Since we missed the walking tour of the Changing of the Guard yesterday, we planned on seeing it today. BUT our plans failed..again. My alarm didn't go off so I woke up to Carys knocking on my door and Stephen asking if I was awake. oops. I got ready really fast (no really, I did), but we decided that we still wouldn't have enough time. (Come to find out that Stephen had accidentally set his watch 15 minutes fast and we probably could've made it...but it still would've been close) This left us time to eat a leisurely breakfast with Carys entertaining us.
After breakfast we set off for Harrods! I just wanted to look around briefly and maybe buy something "affordable." But this isn't what happened. Men: if you take a lady to Harrods, just make yourself comfortable...maybe take a book, because it's going to be awhile. Also, they might spend a lot of your money. :) There are several floors and each floor is huge. I can't tell you how many times I got lost...on just the first floor! Then came the separation. Poor Stephen was really done shopping (after about an hour) and told me he was going to go sit down at a restaurant. I nodded and kept shopping. About ten minutes later, I purchased my item :) and then realised that there are several restaurants in Harrods (at least one on each floor!) and neither of us had a phone. This place is huge and you could easily spend hours looking for someone. So, I searched and walked around Harrods for about 40 minutes and finally decided to wait by the escalator we had first taken. As I reached the escalator, there stood Stephen and I was SO happy to see him! First thing he said was, "lets get out of here." I had fun but the poor guy is now scarred from ever shopping at Harrods again.
By the time we left, it was past lunch time so we headed to a pub I've been wanting to visit which is the Sherlock Holmes Pub. The food was great, but we also needed to get going, so we didn't stay very long.
The whole morning, rain had been threatening to fall at any moment. This moment arrived just as we were walking down our street. We quickly changed into warmer, nicer clothes for church, grabbed an umbrella, and walked to Grace Life London. Stephen stayed for the FOF class at 4, while I accompanied Donna for the children's "class." There were only about 5 kids and we had a really great discussion on how people get to Heaven.
After the FOF class had finished, we all met for tea/coffee, then listened to Tom preach for the main service at 6:30. It was great meeting people from the church and I was able to help Donna lead worship (ps. She has a gorgeous singing voice!)
When the service had finished, Stephen and I went to dinner at a little pub near the Drion's apartment. Steve had a hamburger and chips (as usual) and I had a really yummy salad. When we reached the apt, Ross and Lisa Orgill, along with their adorable children were also there hanging out. We all sang happy birthday to Stephen (tomorrow is his real birthday) as Donna brought out a cheesecake with Maltesers (like Whoppers) and three candles. We had a great time chatting, well most of us chatted, Tom was playing Angry Birds with Sam and Carys on his ipad. :) it's very addicting!
After the Orgill's left, we watched an episode of Dr. Who. Tomorrow morning, we are going to make our third and final attempt to take the walking tour. Then, we're off to Berlin!
Harrod's. You can see how big it is!
..and how glamorous it is. Bling Bling heels anyone?
I wish I could say this is the item of clothing I bought....but it was 400 pounds and I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. (like $700!!!)
do I look like I could fit in???
In front of the Sherlock Holmes Pub...this is me solving a case
Stephen had Steak and Mushroom Pie (yum!!) and I had Shepherds Pie (yuck!!)

Happy, Happy Birthday to my first born son, second born child, and my middle neglected child!! Love you very much! Also, Jill, good choice on passing up the dress. :) Love, Mom
