After checking out of our cute apartment, Emily and I walked around Aix a little while longer. We tried touring a "historic" museum, but it turned out to be about puppets and old decor...neither of which interested us. Our last stop was a large church filled with little corners to explore. One corner had an old baptistery and another held a sarcoffogus that had been chiseled by several different people affected by persecution. On our way out of Aix, we grabbed sandwiches from the boulangerie, Paul, and a small cookie and a "tarte tropézienne" (looked like two hamburger buns with creme in the middle, and a sweet sugar on top) from a different patisserie. These we enjoyed by a fountain while watching the people around us.

Driving from Aix to Cannes was uneventful, and we easily found our apartment, although navigating the small streets and trying to find parking took a bit more caution than usual. Again, our apartment was at the top of a four story building, and we noticed the loss of our "bag carrier" (aka. Stephen) while carrying our supplies to the top. We didn't have much of a view this time, but the apartment was comfortable and conveniently and centrally located. Since France was playing Nigeria in the World Cup that evening, we found a cafe with a tv, and enjoyed the game (along with some delicious pasta) with the locals. Being that France won, there was quite a celebration that followed as cars formed a parade down the Main Street, honking, while passengers carried flags and yelled out the windows. The honking and cheers could be heard until late into the night.
Just down the street from our apartment in Cannes:
